Instagram’s new video function will undoubtedly provide the world with some clips worth sharing (and probably some clips nobody should ever, ever see, but that’s another story). And if you want to share an Instagram video masterpiece with your friends in a blog post or on your website, you’re probably wondering if you can embed these videos.
You can, though it’s not quite as simple as clicking on the embed button for Vines on Twitter or YouTube videos. The art of Instagram video embedding is slightly more complicated. But fear not, young Instagrammer. It can be done! Mashable’s Christina Warren uncovered a good way to get these videos on to your websites.
How to Download Video from Instagram. Recently Instagram announced the video recording and publishing feature for its mobile and web service. Users of the app will now see a movie camera icon when they go in to take a photo and can record up to 15 seconds of video through the Instagram camera.

Step One
How To Download Youtube Music
Log into your Instagram account and pull up the video URL on your desktop using Chrome or Safari. You don’t have to do anything special to pull it up, just get to the part of your feed where the video you want appears. Firefox fans, I have bad news: You can’t do this on Mozilla. Here I have located my social media savant friend’s first foray into Instagram video.
Step Two
Right click on the video, and then select “Inspect Element.” A bunch of crazy-looking code will come up at the bottom of the screen. Don’t have a panic attack. You’re on the right track.
If you’re looking at code like in this picture, you’re halfway there. So now you’re staring down the source code you need to embed. So it’s on to the next step…
Step Three
OK, take a closer look at that “Inspect Element” code. Look for the part that starts ‘div class – “Video” and once you find that, look for the part of that section with the words “distilleryvesper” – it should end with “mp4” and if you find it, you’re basically the Indiana Jones of Embedding Stuff.
It took me a little bit to find mine, but once I clicked on the part highlighted in blue, it popped open a new window with the video in it.
Step Four
OK, first, rejoice: The hard, vaguely technical part is over. Once you have the URL, go to the Video for Everybody generator. Erase the default code in the boxes and replace it with the code you slyly stole from the bowels of the Internet. You can name your video, too. It should look like this:
Step Five
Now you stick that code in your personal website and reap the benefits of your incredible video embedding skillsz. You can pick whether autoplay is on or off (be a good netizen and choose off) and whether you will use HTML5 or HTML5 + Flash. You’re basically a coder now. (Just kidding, real coders, please don’t yell at us.)
Awesome work, great job everyone! But before you start thinking Instagram video is perfect because you can now embed it, let me remind you that Vines are still easier to embed – and you can make your Vines into GIFs, something that’s a little harder to do thus far with Instagram videos.

InstantSave by Gramblast
InstantSave by Gramblast is a tool for downloading Instagram media in a browser. As you’ve probably come to expect, the process is fairly straightforward. Copy the link to the public Instagram post, click Download Gram, and you’ll have an MP4 file downloading shortly. As with the other services mentioned, you can’t download media from private links, even if you’re following that account.
IFTTT
IFTTT automates the entire archiving process. First, however, you’ll need to set up both Dropbox and IFTTT accounts. Once you’re signed up for both, select the Save your Instagram videos to a Dropbox folder option on the IFTTT website. After that, you’ll need to grant permission to IFTTT to access your Instagram and Dropbox accounts. We have also put together a guide to IFTTT if you are a beginner.
You will have the ability to choose which videos are saved to the associated Dropbox account. You can create specific triggers to save videos you’ve specifically liked, or videos you’ve uploaded to Instagram. The videos will be backed up to Dropbox as MP4 files.

Savefromweb not only lets you download videos off Instagram, but also albums, photos, profile pictures, and stories. All you need is the URL from Instagram. Simply copy and paste the URL into the website and press download. You will then be directed to a screen that prompts you either to “download” or “return to home.” Once downloaded, the file is automatically saved into your downloads folder on your computer.
Video Downloader for Instagram (Android)
This Android app allows you to download images and videos, plus it lets you copy tags from Instagram. To use the app, copy the video’s URL in the Instagram app, then paste it in the Video Downloader app. It will download the video and you can share the video or repost it.

InstaSave is a great mobile option for Android users. When browsing Instagram, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner of the video you’d like to save. Then, select the Copy Share URL from the resulting menu and open InstaSave. The video will then be listed in your feed. Tap the down arrow below the latest video and select Save — all of your saved videos and photos will appear in this InstaSave feed. You can also easily delete videos that have since lost their luster directly from InstaSave.
Quickly Repost for Instagram (iOS)
Formerly Insta Save, this app has been around for a while. Like the new name says, it lets you quickly download photos and videos, then repost them on Instagram. You can search for content right in the app by typing in a username.
